Nozawa Onsen is like a true Shangra La. From the Mountain Peaks on a clear day you can see the Sun Set into the Ocean. The town has some amazing traditional architecture with Temples, Hot Spring Houses, and traditional Inns.

It is one of the richest sources of Hot Springs in Japan and there is a myriad of water flowing from the mountains and springs throughout the village leaving its soothing sound as it passes.

Getting there

Plane
From Australia it is an 8-hour Flight, Hong Kong 4 hours, Singapore 6 Hours Europe 15 hours to the nearest International Airports of Tokyo or Nagoya

Shuttle Bus
There is a shuttle bus service from both Tokyo and Nagoya Airports that will pick you up at the airport and drop you at our door approximately 5 hours. Only 11500 yen per person 8000 yen if under 12 years old

Train
From anywhere in Japan you can get the Bullet Train or Express to Nagano City then change to the Iiyama Line to Togari Nozawa Onsen Station. A bus usually meets the train and is a short ride to the Village of Nozawa Onsen.
If staying at Lodge Nagano get off at Bus Stop Number 5 called Shinden, If staying at Villa Nozawa get off at Bus stop Number 6 Nakao.

Then it is a few hundred meters up hill towards the slopes to the Lodges. If you are having troubles please call us.

Taxis are also available from the station to the door and probably the easiest way

Bus
There are a number of overnight and day buses from most major Japanese cities from about 4000 yen per person

Nearest Expressway is Joshinetsu and nearest national road is Route 117
